To use the Profiler, download the installer for your OS. If you need to profile applications running on other computer than where NetBeans is installed, download also appropriate remote pack for target OS and JDK version/architecture. If you need to profile local applications running only on 1.4.2-based JDK, download also special modified JVM. Download it from the MySQL website. On the ' Services ' tab, expand ' Databases ' then right click on the ' Drivers ' folder and choose ' New driver '. Add the.jar file ( mysql-connector-java-5.1.46-bin.jar ) you just downloaded and give it a name as you want.
$ cd /Downloads $ chmod a+x netbeans-7.x-ml-javase-linux.sh // Set to executable for all (a+x) $./netbeans-7.x-ml-javase-linux.sh // Run Follow the instructions to install NetBeans. To start NetBeans, run the script 'netbeans' in the NetBeans' bin directory: $ cd netbeans-bin-directory $./netbeans Writing a Hello-world Java Program in NetBeans. Goal of this project is to provide support for developers who would like to create Java ME application using Solaris or Mac OS X using Netbeans Mobilty Pack 6.5. Project Infrastructure and Overview. Currently it's not possible to use Netbeans Mobility on Solaris OS because Netbeans Mobility does not support Java ME platforms runnable on this OS.
Required Software
Before you install the IDE, the Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 5 Update 14 (version 1.5.0_14) or newer (including JDK 6 Update 4) must be installed on your system. If you do not have an installation of JDK 5 Update 14 or newer, you cannot proceed with the installation. For more information about the required JDK version, see the Required Software section in the NetBeans IDE 6.0.1 Release Notes.
Installer Download Options
On the NetBeans IDE 6.0.1 Download page, you can download one of several installers, each of which contains the base IDE and additional tools.
The following installers are available:
Customizing Your Installation

If you want to add functionality to your NetBeans IDE configuration, use the NetBeans Plugin Manager. For example, assume that you start out by downloading and installing the Ruby pack. You then decide that you want to try out the C/C++ functionality. To do this, go to the NetBeans Plugin Manager from the IDE (choose Tools > Plugins) and add the C/C++ pack to your existing installation.

Upgrading and Coexisting with Previous Versions
If you have previous versions of NetBeans IDE 6.0 (M9 Preview, Beta 1, Beta 2, RC1, or RC2) and want to upgrade to the NetBeans IDE 6.0.1, we recommend that you uninstall the previous version. To do this, perform the following steps:
NetBeans IDE 5.5 or 5.5.1, or 6.0 can coexist with NetBeans IDE 6.0.1 on the same system. You do not have to uninstall the 5.5 or 5.5.1, or 6.0 versions in order to install or run NetBeans IDE 6.0.1.
If you have NetBeans IDE 5.5 or 5.5.1, during the first run of NetBeans IDE 6.0.1, you will be able to choose whether to import user settings from the previous user directory.
If you have NetBeans IDE 6.0, during the first run of NetBeans IDE 6.0.1 no questions about user setting will be asked because both versions use the same user directory.
TroubleshootingAbout the Installer Working Directory
The installer stores data about installation sessions in the installer working directory. Examples of this data are the list of components installed on your system, installation log messages, and registry data.
The default location for the installer working directory is %USERPROFILE%.nbi on Windows and ~/.nbi on other platforms. The log subdirectory contains the installation log files.
Cleaning Up After Incomplete Installations
After incomplete or unsuccessful installations, you might need to clean up your system from previous installations.
For Microsoft Windows, Solaris OS, and Linux:
For Mac OS X:
![]() Disabling Some Software Before Installation
It is better to disable firewall, antivirus, and monitoring applications before you start installation. Some of these applications can prevent IDE components from being configured correctly during the installation process.
For example, if you have the Logitech Process Monitor application (LVPrcSrv.exe) running on your system, switch it off before installation.

NetBeans does run on OS-X, as do other Java applications. But there are a number of ways in which it does not meet the expectations of macintosh users. We will explore the problems and potential solutions, starting with those which are glaring but requiring the least work, and moving into greater detail. This document is a preliminary survey of areas known to be problematic in NetBeans on OS-X. Difficulty is rated on an ad-hoc scale from 1 to ten - these are off-the-cuff estimates trying to take into account as much as I know about the problems involved as possible. Feedback is welcomed - I am new to the Mac, so no doubt there are both some omissions and errors. As much as I am able, I will try to take the perspective of an OS-X user in terms of the problems and solutions discussed here. Some will be clearly beyond the scope of what we should do, but it is helpful to review all of the options when prioritizing them. The status notes 'not started' vs. 'not planned' should at this time be considered recommendations - those that are not started are ones I believe we could and should do; those marked not planned are more questionable or more far-reaching changes. NetBeans is by definition, a Java application - write once, run anywhere. But, particularly with regard to the differences between the Macintosh UI and other platforms, providing an optimal user experience requires paying at least some attention to the expectations of users on a given platform. Netbeans Ide For MacWhile the number of NetBeans users on OS-X is a small (but growing) percentage, if we are to support a platform well, that means doing the work to create a good user experience. It is my opinion that, while we shouldn't go to the extreme of, say, providing an alternate Window System based on Java-Cocoa, we owe it to our users to do what it takes to make NetBeans feel like a natural part of their desktop. After all, if we don't, they'll simply use a competing IDE. The first items to mention are things that stick out like sore thumbs. Many of them do not require heroic efforts to fix.
The issues below would help NetBeans feel more natural on OS-X, but are non-critical. Download Netbeans 8.2
